PMG — Pivot Machine Gun
Unswept levels, one sweep, then everything goes
Watch the lesson
The teaching
The Pivot Machine Gun is about unswept levels. In the traditional bullish PMG, price runs up, pulls back, and leaves five or six unswept highs behind. Then one candle sweeps the low — and then takes out all the unswept highs.
The bearish version mirrors it. The original lesson's downside example is RBLX on the daily chart: price comes down, balances, leaves seven consecutive unswept lows, then sweeps all of them.
Austin's own spec for reading it: a bullish PMG should have price dropping without the previous highs of the candles being swept, then the 3 bar sweeps the previous candles' low and goes on to sweep the unswept highs — and vice versa for a bearish PMG. Count the unswept levels first. The sweep is the trigger.
Key points
- PMG = a stack of unswept highs (or lows) waiting to be taken.
- One candle sweeps the opposite side first, then takes them all.
- Bullish: drop without sweeping highs → 3 bar sweeps the low → sweeps the highs.
- Bearish is the exact mirror.
